About CropBetter
A useful second look
CropBetter is for the moment after you have taken a photo and are not sure where to put the crop. A blank editing rectangle gives you control, but it still asks you to make every visual decision alone. When two sufficiently improved compositions are available, this tool lets you compare their subject placement, aspect ratio and symmetry. Otherwise it explains that the composition is already balanced and keeps manual adjustment available.
The result is your decision. You can adjust both views independently and keep A, B or both. A symmetrical composition can stay centered; a photograph with meaningful space can keep that space. The tool does not rank your memory of a moment or insist that tighter is better.
Local, simple and reversible
Photos are processed in your browser, without an account or an image service. CropBetter crops and rotates what is already there. It does not expand a scene, replace a sky, remove a person or generate new content. Your original file stays untouched, and the downloaded crop is a separate file.
The free release supports groups of up to 5 photos, individual A/B choices, composition guides and native-resolution JPEG or PNG export. Multiple kept frames can be downloaded in a local ZIP. Reloading clears the in-memory session, so download what you want to keep before leaving.
Honest limits
AI composition suggestions consider subject placement, thirds, golden-section placement and symmetry. They can miss what matters or misread a scene. They cannot know which person you care about, whether a diagonal is intentional, or how a particular platform will display an image. That is why manual controls and an explicit final choice are central to the tool.
The homepage uses a credited public-domain photograph. The composition article uses labeled, fixed generated teaching images so those comparisons can be reproduced. Their crop versions are real CropBetter exports, reduced only for lightweight page display. They are labeled as demonstration material rather than presented as visitors' private photographs. The composition article explains the choices behind two of them.
